The Corfu Palace Hotel joins the Aquis group from February 2010
Aquis Hotels and Resorts acquires Corfu Palace Hotel
Monday, February 08, 2010

Aquis Hotel and Resorts has acquired its first city hotel, the five-star Corfu Palace Hotel, and plans on increasing its portfolio to 20 in total by the end of the year. The luxury 112-room hotel is situated within sub-tropical gardens on the outskirts of Corfu Town, overlooking the pretty bay of Garitsa. It is ideal for those seeking tranquility, with the convenience of being close to the city’s business and commercial areas, main markets, restaurants and attractions.

Marketing manager Rania Deimezi commented: “We are delighted with the latest acquisition. The Corfu Palace Hotel is an historic property and is well-known on the island. It has a loyal and high profile clientele and prides itself on excellent service.

"We will respect its history, and will not make it conform to become an all-inclusive property as the rest of the Aquis hotels are. We will however undertake a refurbishment programme to upgrade and rejuvenate the property.

“Through this acquisition, Aquis Hotels and Resorts has expanded its portfolio to incorporate elegant city-based, year-around operating hotels, alongside its 12 resort-based all-inclusive properties in Corfu, Crete and Kos. Thanks to its long history the Corfu Palace can justifiably be classed as one of the most elegant and distinguished hotels in Greece.”

Alongside its rooms and suites with spectacular seaviews, and indoor and outdoor pools, the hotel has a fully-equipped conference centre which can accommodation between 10 and 350 people. On top of this the hotel’s catering service can cater for events within the hotel, or in other premises on the island.

The Corfu Palace Hotel joins the Aquis group from February 2010, and will start operating as an Aquis hotel with immediate effect.

The Aquis Hotels and Resorts board includes its founder John Kent and HH Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Saeed Al Nahayan (Chairman), David Howell (Vice Chairman) and Panagiotis Katsaridis (Managing Director) and Professor Dimitrios Buhalis.
