Mr. Christopher Trimble, most recently at the four star Intercontinental Royal Airport Hotel in Acra, Ghana, has been appointed as the General Manager of the five star The Fairway hotel at the Randpark Golf course, due to open in May. Christopher has more than 30 years of hospitality experience, starting as a trainee at the famous five star Edward Hotel in Durban and working himself up over the years to General Manager of a number of leading hotels around the country. Mr. Trimble is known for high standards, attention to detail, team building skills and getting the job done. His career spans some high profile units throughout South Africa and Mauritius including The St. Geran Hotel and Country Club in Mauritius, The Cascades Hotel at Sun City, The Carlton Hotel and the Sandton Sun Intercontinental Hotel. Other key personnel that have been appointed for The Fairway are Ms. Salome Knoetze, appointed as the Rooms Division Manager and Mr. Warren Forster, appointed as Head Chef. Ms. Knoetze was previously involved with the opening of the four star Holiday Inn Hotel in Sandton and Mr. Forster assisted with the opening of the first five star hotel in the Limpopo province, the Fusion Boutique Hotel.
Philippe Drivon was appointed GM of Accor Hospitality Romania hotel chain, after managing Novotel Bucharest City Center Hotel for the last 4 years. In his new position, Drivon will be in charge of all Accor hotels in Romania and of expanding the French hotel chain on the local market.
The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited (HSH), parent company of The Peninsula Hotels, has announced the following senior management changes: Ms. Rainy Chan will be promoted to be Area Vice-President, Hong Kong and Thailand while retaining her role as General Manager, The Peninsula Hong Kong. Mr. Nicolas Beliard, currently Resident Manager of The Peninsula Hong Kong, will be promoted to be General Manager of The Peninsula Bangkok. Both promotions are effective on 1 May, 2010. Mr. Beliard is replacing Mr. Charles Morris, who will be leaving his post at the end of April.
