BCD Travel to offer GetThere Travel collaboration technology to corporations
Thursday, February 11, 2010

GetThere, the world’s leading travel and collaboration management solution, announced the signing of a global distribution agreement with BCD Travel. The formalization of GetThere’s working relationship with this prominent travel management firm (BCD Travel’s annual travel sales exceed $14 billion) gives BCD Travel sales and account management teams a compelling, proven solution for the comprehensive programs it targets at mid-size and large multi-national corporations.

A Sabre Travel Network business, GetThere has self-booking deployments in 76 countries. Corporations booked more than $9 billion in business travel on GetThere in 2009, with the majority of America’s 100 largest corporate travel programs using the solution.  The GetThere agreement complements a global contract that BCD Travel and Sabre Travel Network completed in 2008.

Many BCD Travel clients, including several Fortune 200 firms, already use GetThere today to optimize travel procurement and drive maximized use of preferred suppliers. As a formal GetThere reseller, BCD Travel will help influence future product enhancements and will have access to a wide range of GetThere customer service resources aimed at delivering significant value to business travel programs.

“GetThere’s track record of serving multi-national firms is undeniable, and their pace of innovation has clearly ramped up in the past 18 months,” said Tom Kallas, general manager of North America for BCD Travel. “GetThere’s focus on collaborative components offered in conjunction with traditional online travel dovetails with several initiatives we have in place.  We’re optimistic about the potential of this relationship in 2010 and beyond.”

“BCD Travel has a track record of creating value for their customers through technology and people solutions that deliver bottom line travel procurement savings,” said Chris Kroeger, president of GetThere and senior vice president of global accounts for Sabre Travel Network. “We look forward to working with BCD Travel as we help our mutual customers travel and collaborate smarter.”
