Cruises.co.uk have conducted a survey into the cost of a European style beer sold in a bottle such as Becks, based on 2009 prices. A bottle of beer bought in a local supermarket, such as Tesco, would typically cost around 66 pence per bottle. The findings of the survey show that a bottled beer on British ships is almost half the price of the same one on a similar style of American ship and most US ships charge more than even a low cost carrier like Ryanair, who charge £2.85. There also seems be other differences such as lower prices on some 5 star ships in comparison to 4 star ships such as Ocean Village and P&O.
