EVA Air and US Airways are expanding their code-sharing relationship, extending routes for both carriers and making travel more convenient for passengers. As of Feb. 12, 2010, EVA passengers can more easily connect from Asia to Southwest and East Coast regions of the United States while those traveling on US Air can more readily access Asia.

EVA’s flight codes will be carried on US Air-operated flights between the West Coast and major cities, including flights to/from Los Angeles and Charlottesville, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, San Francisco and Charlottesville, San Francisco and Philadelphia, Seattle and Charlottesville, Seattle and Philadelphia, and Seattle and Phoenix. EVA-operated flights from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle to Taoyuan International Airport just outside of Taipei, Taiwan will reflect US Air’s codes in both trans-Pacific directions.

Future plans are for the two airlines to extend their code-sharing services to EVA’s extensive network throughout Southeast Asia and Japan. Cooperation between the carriers dates back more than a dozen years to an agreement with America West Airlines, acquired in 2007 by US Airways. This existing code-share cooperation enables EVA’s passengers to travel on US Air-operated flights to/from Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Phoenix, San Francisco and Los Vegas, and San Francisco and Phoenix.  The new and future code-sharing plans extend the benefits of one-ticket connections and through-checked luggage to passengers of both carriers.

EVA also has code-sharing alliances with Air Canada, All Nippon Airways, American Airlines, Bangkok Airways, Continental Airlines and Qantas Airways. The independently owned and operated carrier has a far-reaching network within Asia that is among the best in the airline industry. With just one easy stop in Taipei, passengers can connect onward to major business and leisure destinations throughout the region.

In 1992, EVA became the first airline to roll out a premium economy cabin in-between economy and business classes that, with continual improvement, has retained high demand among both business and leisure travelers and won prestigious international awards. Today, the Taiwan-based airline serves its North American and European long- and medium-haul passengers with Boeing B777-300ers, B747-400s and Airbus A330-200s.
