In cooperation with ehotel, probasys Software has developed the first functioning hotel reservation environment for the innovative Smartphone operating system Google Android.

phonehotel makes it possible to search for hotels at a specified destination or via GPS in its immediate vicinity, to find out prices and other details, and to reserve the found hotel including an immediate confirmation. The latest version of the application can be downloaded for free from ehotel.de/phonehotel and many other market places, and works with all certified Smartphones, such as the recently released Nexus One, on which the free Android system is pre-installed.

Experts acknowledge that the operating system, developed by the Open Handset Alliance under Google management, has the highest guaranteed future besides Apples iPhone OS. The Alliance already consists of 33 well-known providers, e.g. eBay, Garmin, LG, Motorola, Samsung Electronics, Sony Ericsson, Telefnica, Texas Instruments, T-Mobile and Vodafone.

In addition to supporting all Smartphone amenities, the free mobile service offers a significant price advantage over direct hotel reservation per telephone, mail or travel agent, which mainly results from the bundled booking volume of RADIUS Travel. RADIUS, of which ehotel is a partner, is one of the largest travel management organisations worldwide.

During development, probasys CEO Guenter Lachmuth focussed on the usability and practicality of the product: With our mobile hotel reservation application for phoneHotel for mobile phone, Smartphone and Netbook, a pool of over 210,000 hotels is globally at the disposal of any traveller who spontaneously decides for an overnight stay. Google Android is the first platform on which this application is offered; others will follow.
