The solution enhances airlines’ day-to-day group booking administratio
Delta Air Lines implements Abacus GroupClaim across seven keymarkets in Asia
Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Abacus International, Asia’s leading revenue partner for airlines, announced that the world’s largest airline, Delta Air Lines, has recently implemented the Abacus GroupClaim solution across seven key markets in Asia.

Abacus GroupClaim is part of the leading Abacus Group Solutions Suite adopted by over 21 airlines in Asia to drive higher efficiency in group booking management and generate higher sales revenue through Abacus’ productive agency network.

“We are extremely pleased to have expanded our partnership with Delta Air Lines in such a significant fashion in Asia. The simultaneous implementation of the solution across seven key markets is indicative of Delta’s confidence in our products, particularly Abacus GroupClaim, which is the region’s leading Group management solution,” said Abacus Director of Airline Distribution Division, Mr. Ho Hoong Mau.

“With the adoption of Abacus GroupClaim, Delta Air Lines will benefit from better resource deployment due to marked efficiency increase while Abacus’ agencies will deliver greater value to the airline by driving higher sales,” continued Mr. Ho.

The solution enhances airlines’ day-to-day group booking administration by reducing the need for manual follow-ups, passive segments and Passenger Name Records (PNR) servicing. In addition, travel agents can claim and take ownership of the Group PNRs that airlines have created to service its passengers and tickets, thereby significantly reducing distribution costs and increasing productivity.

Mr Brendan Leong, Managing Director of Safe2Travel said, “This strategic partnership between Abacus and Delta Air Lines brings the agency a host of key benefits; we can now make group bookings on the world’s largest airline as well as enjoy the increased convenience of handling large groups at one go.”

“Group bookings are currently manually handled through numerous faxes and telephone calls, which are both labour and cost intensive. To put it simply, under Abacus GroupClaim, we are able to increase agents’ productivity and reduce costs, all at a cheaper group booking rate too" continued Mr Brendan Leong.

Delta Air Lines implemented Abacus GroupClaim in China, Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Taiwan in January 2010.
