Refined luxury meets world class events and entertainment
The Meydan; World’s first 5 star trackside hotel opens in Dubai
Thursday, March 18, 2010

The Meydan, the world’s first five-star trackside hotel, opened its doors to the world on March 4, 2010, with its very first guest checking into the property. The luxury hotel forms an integral part of the Meydan Grandstand and Racecourse, the new home to the world’s richest horse racing event, the Dubai World Cup. This makes it Dubai’s, and the world’s, most distinctive hotel to combine horse racing and entertainment with superior hospitality and service.

The Meydan offers 285 tastefully appointed rooms and suites featuring subtle equestrian themed motifs and modern luxury design finishes. 95% of the rooms and suites include balconies with unobstructed views of the racecourse offering every racing enthusiast a relaxing and stylish way to enjoy a day at the races.

In addition to the private balconies, The Meydan offers the world’s most unique way to enjoy the action on the turf; from its infinity pool on the hotel’s rooftop.

Says Mr. Abdin Nasralla, Vice President Meydan Hotels and Hospitality Division; “The Meydan and its offering of unique experiences is a gift not only to the racing world, but for all who can appreciate superior service and hospitality excellence. We are especially pleased to open The Meydan in time for this year’s Dubai World Cup where a room at the The Meydan will naturally make this already special occasion a once in a lifetime experience.”

The Meydan’s offering of quality experiences does not exclude the taste buds, where three gourmet dining outlets, including an international all day dining restaurant, Steakhouse and Japanese resturant, will form a new social focal point for Dubai’s culinary set. Additionally, The Meydan’s facilities include a wellness spa, gym, business centre, club lounge, conferencing and meeting facilities that will offer unique panoramic views of the racecourse.

Says Mr. Nasralla; “We invite the world to stay with us and experience our superior hospitality and service. Whether it be on race days or otherwise, a regular programme of entertainment and events will make The Meydan an international focal point for those wanting to enjoy themselves with  memorable and unique experiences”.

Guests staying at The Meydan on its opening night were not only able to enjoy the thrill of an evening programme of racing events, but also experience from their balcony a live performance and concert by world-renowned artist Sting. An amazing double bill of Elton John and Santanna are billed to entertain guests and fans on March 27 following the running of the Dubai World Cup, making this year’s event the most eagerly awaited and festive to date.
