La Manga Club’s excellence as a golf and leisure resort
La Manga Club scoops hat-trick in World Travel Awards
Thursday, April 01, 2010
La Manga Club’s excellence as a golf and leisure resort has been recognised with a hat-trick of nominations in the World Travel Awards 2010. The awards have been dubbed the travel industry’s Oscars and the luxurious Spanish resort has been nominated as Europe’s leading golf and leisure resort, Europe’s leading golf resort and Spain’s leading golf resort.

La Manga Club’s CEO Adrian Constant said: “La Manga Club was the first resort destination in Europe and it is remarkably impressive that it has led the way for nearly 40 years since then.

“These nominations are the latest in a long line of plaudits to highlight the fact that La Manga Club is one of the finest resorts in the world. We’re delighted to have been recognised and I’m certain there will be a lot more success to come.”

The resort will find out if it has been successful in the three categories at the World Travel Awards’ Europe Gala Ceremony in Turkey on October 1.

The World Travel Awards is the most comprehensive and prestigious awards programme in the global travel industry and was established in 1993 to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in travel and tourism. With thousands of votes cast by travel professionals from 183,000 travel agencies in more than 160 countries globally, winning a World Travel Award has become one of the highest accolades a travel product can receive.

La Manga Club boasts first-class facilities for a wide range of activities including three championship golf courses, a 28-court tennis centre and eight full-scale sports pitches which continue to attract leading professional teams from the worlds of football, cricket and rugby.

In addition it also has a 2,000sqm spa complex, outstanding facilities for families and children, a five-star hotel, fully-serviced self-catering apartments and a host of restaurants and entertainment on site offering food from around the world. All of which is accessible from more than 20 airports across the UK and Ireland.
