Foundation stone laid down for Sheikh Zayed Airport in Albania

The foundation stone was laid down for Sheikh Zayed Airport to be built at the cost of US $15 million.
Present at the ceremony were Albanian Prime Minister Fatos Nano, the Albanian Minister of Transport and a number of UAE and Albanian military officers.
Colonel Ahmed Omran Taryam, Deputy Military Works, said that the decision of H.H. President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan on the building of the airport was a reflection of the UAE`s foreign policy based on establishign co-operation with friendly countries. He said that the airport would be completed within 24 months and would have all modern facilities including a 6000 ft long runway.
