Iceland Express has seen a 20 per cent increase in passengers since the volcanic eruption in South Iceland in March 2010. Due to this rise in sales, the low-fare airline is extending the booking period of its special volcano deals, which sees flights.

The offer will now run until 13 April 2010, allowing more passengers to see the still smoking Eyjafjallajokull volcano, which had been dormant for 200 years.

“We have experienced a 20 per cent rise in sales compared to last year, which we believe is due to the volcanic activity,” says Matthias Imsland, Iceland Express CEO. “It is a very exciting and interesting time to visit Iceland so we hope our extended offer will encourage more passengers to see this spectacular event for themselves.”

The offer is valid for travel on selected dates between 8 April and 31 May 2010.  Flights must be booked by 13 April 2010 and seats are subject to availability.
