Hersham and Stockholm development sites maintain quality standard
Navtech upholds ISO 9001 accreditation
Monday, May 03, 2010
Navtech, Inc., a leading flight operations software and services company, has maintained their ISO 9001 accreditation for its Stockholm and Hersham (U.K.) product development sites since originally obtaining the standard in 1999 and 2003 respectively. Accreditation certifies that Navtech has a quality management system in place, that it meets ISO’s latest internationally recognized standard and that the products provided under this scheme meet the highest standards expected by its customers.

“At Navtech, we feel that quality and safety go hand in hand, making this accreditation particularly rewarding,” said Navtech VP of Quality, Amir Rakha“The job of improving quality is never done – this is a significant milestone, but just one in an ongoing journey of continual quality improvements to our systems and ultimately, to service for our customers.”

ISO 9001 is a family of standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a non-governmental group that is the world’s largest developer and publisher of international standards. To earn accreditation, Navtech’s Hersham and Stockholm sites were independently audited to ensure they met strict ISO requirements for a system of quality management. ISO 9001 status is earned only when a company can effectively demonstrate that is has established such a system, that its impact can be documented, that it is operational and being maintained, and that it continually evolves providing for ever higher thresholds of improvement. Navtech’s Quality team is now pursuing AS 9100 designation in 2010.

The accreditation comes on the heels of another honor for Navtech: its recent appointment to the top 100 companies in the Branham300, a closely-watching ranking of leading Canadian Information and Communication Technology (ICT) companies.
