A familiarization trip to Hungary
The five-star Corinthia Hotel Budapest hosted a group of American travel agents
Monday, May 10, 2010
The five-star, award-winning Corinthia Hotel Budapest, the only hotel in Hungary's Capital to make the list of TripAdvisor's top 25 hotels, hosted a group of 38 American travel agents, all members of The National Association of Career Travel Agents (NACTA). The agents were on a familiarization trip to Hungary organized by the Hungarian National Tourist Office.

Bob Duglin, Business Development Manager of NACTA said “We would like to thank the Corinthia Hotel Budapest for hosting our Familiarization trip in conjunction with the Hungarian National Tourist Office. Each one of our travel agents commented on the beauty and magnificence of this elegant property. The only thing that exceeded the accommodations and facilities was the warmth and friendliness of their staff.“

Corinthia Hotel Budapest’s  Director of Sales and Marketing, Sonja Wilms, said “America is an important market for Corinthia, one we are looking to expand. We were pleased to have this opportunity to have the NACTA agents experience, for themselves the same personal service and luxury facilities that they can expect for their clients.” Corinthia co-hosted with NACTA, a reception for the travel agents in one of the Hotel’s elegant courtyards. Agents were free to use all the Corinthia Hotel facilities including the Executive Lounge and Royal Spa.

Toni Lanotte-Day, President,Toni Tours, Levittown, NY, and a NACTA member participating in the Budapest travel agent trip said "I was very pleased with the level of service and accommodation and appreciated the attention to detail in the public areas. The Executive Lounge privilege is well worth the extra daily fee. I would not hesitate to send my VIP clients here who appreciate an upscale boutique type hotel experience".

The Corinthia Hotel Budapest, also known affectionately by its historic name, the ‘Grand Hotel Royal,’ is a city landmark and a member of the newly repositioned upper luxury Corinthia Hotels brand. Its neo-classical facade, adorned with statues, columns and cupolas, has graced Budapest's fashionable thoroughfare, Erzsebet Avenue, for well over a century. It was reopened in 2002, having been faithfully restored to its former glory as Budapest’s leading luxury hotel, featuring a magnificent ballroom and the most extensive conference facilities in the city. With its lavish lobby, superb accommodation, a renovated 19th century spa and various fine-dining options, it once more takes center stage, not only in this elegant imperial yet thoroughly modern city, but also among hotels throughout Europe. Since its re-opening, The Corinthia Hotel Budapest has received numerous awards and accolades for its architecture, cuisine and world class service. The hotel is owned by Malta-based International Hotel Investments (IHI) and operated by CHI Hotels & Resorts, a joint venture between IHI and the Wyndham Hotel Group.
