Thursday, May 13, 2010

Located at the very heart of the city, opposite the
TGV railway station and only 15 minutes from the
Nantes International Airport, la Cite, one of the leading convention centres in France, has recently unveiled its new development strategy, based on 3 key points:
- A Corporate Social Responsibility scheme, devised with all the relevant parties (clients, suppliers, partners, staff and shareholders) including a catalogue of all eco-friendly services available to all organisers. This initiative is based on the experience and the practices of the company through its socially responsible policies, in support of the Global Compact programme and with the aim to receive ISO 26 000 Social Responsibility by the year 2011.
- A strategic approach on Innovation or on how to anticipate event organisers’ future needs is developed with the firm Arthur D. Little in Brussels with a view to generating innovative offers: from new technologies to tomorrow’s reception services.
- Truly international : As an attractive venue in the Nantes Saint Nazaire area , la Cite aims to strengthen its position and to be a key player in the European meeting industry. After 12 international successful bids in 2009, la Cite will strengthen its commercial team with the arrival of a Marketing & Development Manager in May 2010. Elodie Coudre will implement the marketing strategy to win new markets and she will be in charge of promotion and market development. Elodie previous contributed to the development of international congresses as congress manager at the Paris Convention Bureau.
She will also manage the various activities of the «Ambassadors» programme with the scientific and economic community in Nantes.
