Tiger Airways passengers can now save even more time on their journey with the convenience of web check-in as Australia’s favourite airline makes it even easier and ever more affordable for all Australians to travel by air.
Tiger Airways’ Managing Director Shelley Roberts said the introduction of web check-in meant Australians would save on travel time as well as the cost of their ticket, adding the airline was responding to customer demand for more streamlined services. “As well saving our valued customers money through our innovative and celebrated Low Fare Revolution, we are also helping our customers who choose to bring hand luggage only, to fly through the check-in process and ensure they cut their travel time and get to their destination that much faster,” Ms Roberts said.
“For example, going on a day trip from Melbourne to Hobart, Brisbane to Adelaide or the Gold Coast to Sydney suddenly becomes a very attractive proposition - especially when you’re travelling with hand luggage only and you can purchase a seat with Tiger Airways from just $28* and can check yourself in online. All that’s left is to turn up to the airport 45 minutes before your flight and go straight to the boarding gate on the day of departure. Introducing web check-in is a logical addition to our service offering and is part of our ongoing commitment to improving air travel for all Australians.”
Ms Roberts said web check-in would open up a new market for the airline and the facility complemented Tiger Airways’ unique operating model which is focused on providing the absolute lowest fare for a seat, giving customers even more control in choosing what extras they may or may not want to pay for.
“We’re all about stripping back all costs to the absolute minimum and offering the seat at the lowest fare possible,” Ms Roberts said. “If you don’t want checked luggage – don’t pay for it. Don’t want food? Don’t pay for it. We passionately believe that there is no reason why your fare should pay for someone else’s lunch. It’s up to the customer to tailor their flight with any additions they choose, to suit their budget and travel equirements.”
From this date if you’re travelling with hand luggage only, simply have your flight confirmation details ready and click on the web check-in icon on Tiger Airways home-page (tigerairways.com). Checking in online:
- Web check in opens 48 hours before scheduled departure time.
- Customers will be able to check themselves in for their flight up to four hours before their scheduled time of departure.
- Customers must be over 15 years of age.
- Customers are allowed 7kg of carry-on luggage only.
- The key requirement is that customers will need to be able to print their own bar-coded boarding pass and bring it with them in order to bypass the check-in queue and head directly to the boarding gate.
