The North’s low fare airline, Jet2.com, has announced the launch of its first ever service to the popular Turkish hot spot of Bodrum, following an overwhelming demand from holiday makers for destinations out of the pricey Euro-zone. Flights for summer 2011 are on sale now with departures once a week from 23rd June to 2nd October 2011. Alternatively package holidays are available from Jet2holidays.
 
With Jet2.com’s new route offering the only direct scheduled service to the Turkish peninsula from Leeds Bradford airport, demand is expected to be high and compliments the airline’s twice weekly service to Dalaman which was launched earlier this year.
 
Turkey is enjoying a renaissance amongst British sun-seekers of late - its bustling bazaars, turquoise coves and cheap alcohol proving a major attraction to tourists who have been put off by price hikes on alcohol, eating out and tobacco in rival holiday spots such as Spain, Italy and France.
 
Philip Meeson, boss of Jet2.com, said: “It seems our customers have fallen in love with Turkey’s beautiful beaches and low cost of living!  Dalaman has proved to be one of our most popular holiday destinations for 2010 and so we are delighted to be adding to our Turkish offering with the launch of the Bodrum flight.
