CHTA announces partnership with R&R TV to air ‘Taste of the Caribbean’

The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) has announced a new partnership with R&R TV – a national television network expecting to reach 50 million households by Q3 2010. R&R TV will produce a one hour show featuring the fun, excitement, tastes and styles of Caribbean cuisine in a competition that will take place from September 9-12, 2010 at the Wyndham Rio Mar Resort in Rio Grande Puerto Rico.

The feature will be aired and re-run a total of 12 times during prime time throughout October – November 2010 and January 2011 on the full time cable, broadcast and satellite distributed programming network. It will also be part of the live video stream on rrtv.com, and will also be archived for ‘video on demand.’

“Our rich cultural history and diversity makes Taste of the Caribbean one of our most prestigious events showcasing the pinnacle of the region’s varied culinary styles,” said Alec Sanguinetti, Director General and CEO of CHTA.

“We are proud to partner with R&R TV, whose understanding of the culinary scene as well as the world of travel will further our goals by raising awareness about the richness and creativity of Caribbean gastronomy,” added Sanguinetti.

“Our one hour show will truly spread the word about the sumptuous culinary delights that await a viewer, whether as a visitor to the region, or in recreating a tempting recipe at home,” added Johnson.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for Caribbean destinations, hotels and products to sponsor packages in relevant programming that will reach almost 50 million households across the U.S.,” concluded Tom Armstrong, VP of Advertising Sales for R&R TV.
