Mercator establishes Mercator Asia

Following the acquisition of tikAERO Mercator, the airline IT solutions provider of the Emirates Group and a global leader in business technology solutions for the airline and transportation industry, has established a new office in Bangkok, Thailand. The office will be known as Mercator Asia and will provide a base for the ongoing development of the system and other passenger related solutions.
 
Patrick Naef, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Group IT, stated: “Establishing a Mercator office in the Asia Region is a very positive step for us. We see a significant opportunity in being able to tap into the hard working and highly skilled resources that are available in Thailand. This facility will also provide us with easier access to a fast growing region for commercial aviation.”
 
The new Mercator offices are located in the heart of Bangkok. There are currently 40 staff employed by Mercator Asia led by Roland Heller, the founder of TikSystems, who has been appointed CEO. Roland reports to the Board of Mercator Asia which is comprised of Nigel Hopkins, Executive Vice President Service Departments Emirates Group and Patrick Naef, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Group IT.
