Aviareps joins UNWTO
Thursday, July 01, 2010

Aviareps has been announced official Affiliate Member of the UNWTO (United Nation World Tourism Organization). As part of the UNWTO, a specialized agency of the United Nations and the foremost international organization in the field of tourism, the worldwide leading tourism and aviation management expert gains access to a global network of institutional and professional contacts as well as information about challenges, market trends and the development of the tourism industry. Numerous possibilities for collaboration including conferences, workshops and other meeting platforms provide a global forum where business decision makers and governments can discuss tourism policy issues.

“As Aviareps is the worldwide leading specialist for tourism and aviation management with more than 85 tourism clients from every corner of the world, it was a logical step for us to become an Affiliate Member of UNWTO and show commitment to the organization’s global principles. The possibilities for collaboration, the comprehensive network of connections and associations as well as the access to specific tourism information will help us sharpen our market profile and bring us industry-wide recognition,” states Michael Gaebler, Founder and Chairman of Aviareps.

“As an Affiliate Member of UNWTO, Aviareps will be able to interact with prominent decision makers in the field of tourism and explore partnerships for specific projects and new business opportunities. Exchanging information on “best practices” with other government, private and public players will enable use to create added value for our clients as well,” adds Thomas Drechsler, Chief Operating Officer Tourism at Aviareps.

The UNWTO headquarters are located in Madrid (Spain). Its membership base currently includes 154 countries, seven territories and 418 Affiliate Members representing the private sector, educational institutions, tourism associations and local tourism authorities. Together with its members, the UNTWO aims to reinforce the relationship between public and private sectors for a positive development of tourism worldwide. Any public or private organization, NGOs, educational institutions or entities involved in tourism-related activities like airlines, travel agents, destination promotion boards, hotel groups, universities or business schools can become Affiliate Members.
