El Al Israel Airlines is launching its newest route as of 1ST August 2010. EL AL was recently granted rights to fly the domestic route Tel Aviv - Eilat, Israel's famous resort tourist destination on the Red Sea.

This route will offer international travelers to Eilat the opportunity to connect very easily at Ben Gurion International Airport and enjoy the well-known high level of service offered by EL AL all the way to Eilat. Special fares will be available for passengers who fly EL AL and continue to Eilat.  International travelers will be able to connect directly to Eilat (depending on the flight schedule) or stopover and tour the country and also include Eilat in their itinerary with easy access.

Elyezer Shkedy, President and CEO of El Al Israel Airlines said, "This new product allows EL AL, for the first time, to offer Eilat at competitive fares and offer our passengers, especially for incoming tourists to the country, the most convenient and highest levels of service on the route. The 3 times daily schedule allows various connections to international destinations using EL AL's network and allows the Israeli traveler to Eilat to choose the schedule that best suits their own needs."

"Eilat is a destination on its own, especially for tourists from Europe. For the North American traveler to Israel, Eilat can now be added very easily to one's Israel holiday," added Eli Cohen, Vice President Commercial and Industry Affairs. "Eilat is famous for its resort atmosphere, summer-like temperatures all year long and high level of service offered at all of the hotels. With the addition of EL AL offering this route, we expect an increase in travelers to Eilat."

El Al will be partnering with the Israel Ministry of Tourism and Eilat Hotel Association to promote Eilat and penetrate to new markets.

El Al will operate a 737-700 Boeing aircraft on the route with a total of 136 seats.
