Disney Cruise Line’s inventory is now available via the Amadeus Cruise Distribution Solutions portfolio
Amadeus and Disney Cruise Line announce new cruise distribution expansion
Monday, July 19, 2010

Amadeus has reached an agreement with Disney Cruise Line to distribute its products using the Amadeus System in the U.S. and Canadian markets. Other markets are currently being discussed and will be announced at a later date.

A leader in the family cruise segment, Disney Cruise Line creates magical experiences for guests of all ages and cruising backgrounds.  Disney Cruise Line’s ships are purpose-built with families in mind, including specially designed areas and activities for each member of the family.

This expansion permits a further diversification of the Amadeus Cruise Distribution Solutions portfolio that now offers 22 cruise lines through its Cruise Distribution Solutions, covering more than 95% of the world cruise inventory, the highest of all global distribution systems.

“We are delighted to expand our offering with the addition of Disney Cruise Line. Through this expansion, Amadeus continues to respond to the growing needs and requests of the agent community. Our continued technology investment brings significant efficiencies in time and productivity for travel professionals, resulting in an improved service for the final customer,” said Robert Chamberlin, Director of Cars, Cruise, Ferry & Insurance business units, at Amadeus.

“We are very excited about being able to market and sell our products through Amadeus. In 2010, Disney Cruise Line is offering the most diverse itineraries in our line’s history bringing Disney magic to the Mediterranean, Northern European, Alaska, Mexican Riviera, Caribbean and Bahamas. By working with Amadeus we are expanding our reach and providing improved connectivity and functionality for booking cruises,” said Randy A. Garfield, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Travel Operations for Disney Destinations.

Since its launch in 1998, Disney Cruise Line has established itself as a leader within the cruise industry. Its two ships - the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder - combine the magic of Disney with the luxury of the classic oceanliners of years past.

For the 2010 European season, each itinerary offers Port Adventures that include distinctly Disney touches, rich storytelling and some even feature beloved characters. With a wide variety of European itineraries, Disney Cruise Line creates family-friendly Port Adventures that allow guests to best experience these culturally rich and exotic locations.

Disney Cruise Line recently began construction of two new ships, the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy. Scheduled to launch in 2011 and 2012 respectively, these new ships will more than double the passenger capacity for Disney Cruise Line to meet the sustained demand for family cruise vacations.
