Indexes compare past eight quarters for law, financial services, and aggregate Ovation clients
Ovation releases quarterly business travel indexes
Thursday, July 29, 2010

Ovation Travel Group, the 7th largest corporate travel management company by sales volume in the United States as ranked by Business Travel News, announced that it has released its quarterly Business Travel Indexes through the second quarter of 2010. The Financial Services Firm Business Travel Index, Law Firm Business Travel Index, and Corporate Business Travel Index, which launched in 2009, will continue to be updated quarterly going forward, with each release comparing the preceding eight quarters’ travel patterns for each group.

Each Index illustrates the following statistics for the most recent eight quarters:
- Average airfare price paid by quarter
- Average hotel rate paid by quarter
- Breakdown of the percentage first, business, and economy class tickets by quarter
- Breakdown of the percentage domestic vs. international tickets by quarter

“We’ve gotten so much positive feedback from clients, associates, and the media regarding these indexes,” explained Jennifer Achim, Vice President of Marketing. “People are interested to see that across industries, travel trends are on the mend following the economic slump of late 2008 and most of 2009. The data we have gathered also provides an objective benchmarking resource for businesses and travel managers, allowing organizations to see where they stand in comparison to the averages.”

The Corporate Business Travel Index data is culled from a cross-industry-sample of clients, representing over $100,000,000 in annual air spend. The Financial Services Firm Business Travel Index data is culled from a cross-sample of financial services industry clients, representing over $50,000,000 in annual air spend. The Law Firm Business Travel Index data is culled from a cross-sample of The Lawyers’ Travel Service’s (a division of the Ovation Travel Group) law firm clients, representing over $70,000,000 in annual air spend.
