Brice Business and Economy Class seats to be part of first Boeing “Sky Interior” cabins in Africa
RwandAir selects TIMCO’s Brice Seating for its new B737-800 aircraft
Friday, July 30, 2010

RwandAir announced leading aircraft seat manufacturer Brice Seating, a part of the TIMCO Aerosystems family of interior products, its selected seat supplier. The B1010 economy seat and its B2054 business class seat have been selected for installation on the new B737-800 aircraft deliveries. Each of the seat products will include a robust, built-in entertainment system, providing passengers with the latest state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment.

The Brice seats will be part of the first new Boeing “Sky Interior” cabin concept for aircraft based on the African continent.  The new design, revealed for the first time by Boeing in April 2009, includes new ambient lighting, spacious entry and aisle areas, larger stowage bins and fuel-saving structural improvements due to lighter weight.

“We become the first carrier on the continent to have Sky Interior cabin with these B737-800. Of course Brice Seating products for economy and business class are on the spot with our agenda to give our preferred travelers an outstanding cabin experience” said RwandAir CEO Rene Janata.

Rick Salanitri, President of TIMCO Aerosystems, observed, "As you might imagine, we are truly excited that RwandAir has selected Brice Seating.  Our team is highly motivated to deliver superior products and service for our important, new customer.” Through Brice Seating, TIMCO Aerosystems supports the world’s leading airlines with innovative seating design and manufactured solutions, including the new FeatherWeight series of weight-saving products.  TIMCO Aerosystems, a division of TIMCO Aviation Services, Inc., is one of a select few providers that can support its customers through every facet of the interior modification process, from state-of-the-art design and engineering to systems and structures manufacture, integration and certification.

RwandAir is the national carrier of Rwanda and serves all East African community capital cities with daily flights and it flies to Johannesburg five times a week. The airline currently has a fleet of two Boeing 737-500, two Bombardier CRJ and a Dash 8 with two Boeing 737-800 joining the fleet in 2011. The carrier is aggressively growing its fleet to cater for its network expansion plans that will see it fly to more regional and intercontinental destinations.
