Mr. Gregory Woodside, has been appointed as the new General Manager of the four star Askari Game Lodge in Magaliesburg. Known for high standards, his knowledge of the tourism, travel and hospitality industry and a hand on approach, his 20 year career spans some high profile game lodges and city hotels throughout South Africa and Africa, including Didimala Game Lodge, Mabalingwe Game Lodge, Mabula Game Lodge, Sandton Sun Hotel and Monomatapa Hotel in Harare.

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has strengthened its central sales team with the appointment of Rebecca Smith as National Account Director for the corporate and agent market. Bringing with her a wealth of industry experience gained from managing a large customer base across corporate, local, MICE and agency sales, Rebecca joins Macdonald Hotels from her previous role as Regional Sales Manager UK North at Jurys Inn Hotel Group. In addition, she has held various Director of Sales positions in hotels across Birmingham and the North West. Rebecca will target the ever growing corporate and agent sector, drawing from her own contacts and expertise to successfully implement winning sales and marketing strategies for the group. Her appointment is part of Macdonald Hotels’ strategy moving forward, taking full advantage of sales opportunities in key operating markets and generating a more sales focused culture within the business, as it continues to invest in its four and five star portfolio.
