“By christening our Boeing 767 we hope to raise awareness of the partnership between ConTribute, our aid organization, the Peanuts and Luftfahrt Ohne Grenzen and encourage interest in donations. Directly involving our employees in the raising of funds - either through sales of licensed Peanuts products or through contributions to the donation boxes located in the lunchrooms- is an integral part of our joint fundraising activities ” advised Uwe Balser. Additional contributions will be generated through Condor`s on board sales of Peanuts products, sale of on-board children`s meals as well as “Eintagsfliegen” promotions. ConTribute and the Peanuts organization will hand over the proceeds to the children`s help organization Wings of Help/ Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen.
ConTribute was founded in 2009 to support children`s help organizations. Condor employees from all departments actively participate by assisting during natural catastrophes and addressing topics related to cultural diversity. One of the goals of Wings of Help/Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen is providing worldwide assistance in the aftermath of natural catastrophes. Needed relief supplies are distributed to the affected population using local partners. Logistics support from Germany is usually aided by air transportation. During the last couple of weeks, Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen has been sending relief shipments with supplies including water purification tablets, blankets and medical supplies to the disaster area in Pakistan. Following the earthquake in Haiti, Condor with ConTribute brought 35 tons of relief supplies and 600 tents for 4000 people in the disaster relief area. Furthermore, doctors and logistics specialists, together with employees of LOG were flown into the area in order to help locally.
The “Peanuts - Charlie Brown and his friends” is supporting various children`s help organizations in honor of their 60th anniversary. The joint cooperation between ConTribute and Wings of Help/Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen therefore holds a special place in their heart. Godmother Nia Kuenzer commenting on the cooperation, “ this partnership will raise awareness by addressing a wide and varied audience. It is important that fundraising efforts reach as many of the public as they can so that as much help as possible can be provided in the crisis regions.”
