Big guns gather at Second European Multi Course Owners Meeting
Friday, September 24, 2010
The European Golf Course Owners Association (EGCOA) is hosting the second European Multi-Course Owners Meeting on 30. November 2010 in London. The event also preludes the European Golf Business Conference, which will take place in London from 1-2 December 2010. Following the success of the previous year's event, many of Europe's largest golf course owners and operators are expected to converge in the UK capital to discuss the future of the golf industry.

The goal of the European Multi-Course Owners Meeting is for attendees to share information on current developments in the market, as well as offering a unique networking opportunity for owners and operators of 3 or more golf courses. 2009 attendees included companies such as Crown Golf, Burhill (UK), Open Golf Club (France), Burggolf (The Nehterlands) and Clubhaus AG (Germany) joined the meeting.

The inspiration for this event originated from the Multi-Course Owners Meeting of the National Golf COurse Owners Association (NGCOA) in the USA, where this is now an annual gathering of the major players in the US golf industry. Mike Hughes, CEO of the NGCOA will also be present at this year's event in London to share information and insights on developments within the golf industry in the USA.

Europe has around 35 multi-course owners: companies that operate three or more golf courses. The largest of these operates 50 courses in 30 locations. An estimated 270 courses in total are operated by these multi-course organisations, with over half of these companies having already confirmed their participation at this year's event. The MCOM will take place on Tuesday 30th November, coinciding with the official opening reception for the fifth annual European Golf Business Conference.
