PhoCusWright’s top 35 rising stars in the online travel industry
Mina Agnos is the first Young Leader announced as part of 2010 Class of 35
Monday, October 04, 2010
Mina Agnos, VP of Sales and Client Services at Travelive as the first Young Leader to be named as part of this year’s Class of 35. The Class of 35 is PhoCusWright’s top 35 rising stars in the online travel industry that are aged 35 and under.

In her role at Travelive, Mina leads sales staff of five in meeting a $3.5 million revenue goal. She is responsible for managing contracts and direct rate analysis to create results in sell pricing for travel services. She creates “suggested itineraries” on: travel2greece.com, travel2egypt.com and travel2italy.com and manages relationships with hotel and travel suppliers. Mina also oversees quality control and customer service.

What’s the greatest challenge the travel industry faces?
The volatility of the US Dollar has been our greatest challenge. We are a US company that is highly reliant on the EURO. The fluctuations in the exchange rate have created price irregularity on the consumer end and shifting profit margins on the back end. We have been successful in negotiating maximum FX rates with our suppliers which we pass to customers to offer certainty.

Travelive is a leading provider of luxury FIT travel to Greece, Egypt, and Italy with offices in Montclair, NJ and Athens, Greece. With 10 employees we generated $3.5 million in 2009. We have never taken outside funding and our (three) partners control 100% of the company.

Mina has a BA in Mathematics from the University of La Verne and a MA in Tourism Management, New York University.
