IACC of the Americas announces new officers of the Board of Directors

At the recent meeting of the Board of Directors at Skamania Lodge in Stevenson, WA, the Board of Directors of the International Association of Conference Centers of The Americas elected new officers for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2011.

Pete Stockmann, CEO of 3P Business Solutions in Bloomfield Hills, MI was unanimously elected President, having recently served as Second Vice President and as Secretary. Stockmann, a member of IACC since 1994, is the recipient of the IACC Pyramid Award (2007) and the IACC Award of Excellence (2005) and has been a member of the IACC Global Board of Directors. He has also served on the Annual Conference Planning Committee for ten years as Education Committee Chair and as Board Liaison. He has been a facilitator and Chair of IACC SPIN conferences for eight years, facilitator of IACC Customer Roundtables, North America Board Representative for the Copper Skillet Award, Chair of the IACC Online Evaluation Committee and Chair of the North American Position Paper in 2010.

T.J. Fimmano, General Manager at Dolce Hotels and Resorts/GE Crotonville in Ossining, NY was elected First Vice President after having served most recently as Treasurer of the Board of Directors. T.J. served on the Annual Conference Planning Board for eight years, and was Co-Chair of the 25th and 26th Annual Conferences. A member of the Board of Directors since 2006, he also served on the Quality Committee as Co-Chair of the Sustainability Task Force which introduced the IACC Code of Sustainability.

Steve Sackman, Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for Destination Hotel & Resorts at Tarrytown House Estate & Conference Center in Tarrytown, NY, was elected Second Vice President. Steve recently served the Board as Secretary and was Chair and Director of the Marketing Committee for four years and oversaw the association’s new brand identity in 2008.

Leslie Vanderzwet, General Manager, Conferences at The Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta, Canada, was elected Treasurer. Since joining IACC in 1999, Leslie has been active on the Annual Conference Planning Committee for eight years, participating in Production, Marketing, and Food & Beverage. She also served as Co-Chair of the Sustainability Task Force which introduced the Code of Sustainability and was Chair and Director of the Marketing Committee. She is currently overseeing 20 Customer Roundtables which will take place between November 1, 2010 and January 31, 2011.

Sean Anderson, VP Operations for Sodexo Conferencing  was elected Secretary. Sean has been on the Board of Directors for three years and is Chair of the Member 2 Member Committee. He actively served on the Marketing Committee for five years, was Chair of the Leadership Development Committee, Co-Chaired the Electronic Initiatives group, and participated in the website subcommittee.
