Friday, October 22, 2010

Navtech, a leader in flight operations software and services, has partnered with IBS, a leading global provider of software solutions and services to the Travel, Transportation and Logistics (TTL) industry. The new partnership offers airlines a blend of Navtech’s Crew planning products with IBS’ iFlight Crew and iFlight Operations solutions to provide airlines with planning and day-of-operations tools to manage their crews and fleets efficiently. The union of these industry leaders provides a smart choice for those airlines looking for an integrated, efficient and streamlined process.

Navtech has two state of the art crew planning products. The Navtech Pairing Optimizer is a fully configurable engine that produces highly optimized crew pairings. Navtech’s Preferential Bidding System (PBS) works to create a flying and reserve schedule to satisfy an airlines’ coverage needs while simultaneously meeting crews’ quality of life needs.

IBS’ iFlight Crew is a complete crewing tool that determines the most cost-effective use of an airlines’ crew including day-of-operations execution and disruption recovery. IBS’ iFlight Operations support an airline from maintenance planning through to operations control and recovery. IBS’ systems are built to help airlines make better operational decisions, improve the efficiency of their staff and on time performance, using “what-if” scenarios, real-time information and real-time messaging.

“Navtech is extremely excited to partner with IBS to bring a state-of-the-art suite of crew and fleet management products to the aviation market,” said Mike Hulley, CEO of Navtech. “We believe that the industry is hungry for technology-forward, cost-effective solutions that benefit both the airlines and their crews.” “An integrated solution from IBS and Navtech is a smart choice for airlines looking for an enterprise crew and fleet management solution,” added Simon Elder, IBS’ global head of airline and airport operations. “IBS is very well known for our crew and fleet management solutions in other parts of the world, but relatively new to the North American market. Our partner, Navtech, is a well known and trusted name in America and IBS is delighted to have them as our partner.”

All Navtech and IBS crew products utilize rule checking policies where all preferences and changes are checked for rule violations to ensure all government, industry and company policies are adhered to during the bidding cycle and afterward. The Navtech and IBS products work seamlessly to provide a complete end-to-end solution. The combined offering will provide Navtech customers with an enhanced product that further serves to meet their performance and cost-saving expectations.
