Wednesday, November 03, 2010

Consular Department of the Embassy of Spain in Moscow
issued 46484 Schengen visas in September 2010 (+71.2% in comparison with September 2009). In general, the Embassy has issued 382 410 visas during the period from January to September of 2010 (+ 60.6% in comparison with the same period of last year).

According to the analysts of the market, such statistics is a graphic evidence of the growing popularity of Spain as a travel destination for the Russians. It can be also explained by the fact, that Spanish Embassy issued multiple visas for 6 months, giving the opportunity to visit Spain and other Schengen states for several times.

“The demand for Spain was really high this summer. Thedestinationwasneeded. We had a great increase of the volume of sales in compliance with the planned one. Indirectly the growth of volumes can be confirmed by the statistics of issuing visas. We didn’t expect such growth”, said Inna Beltyukova, General Director of Capital Tour.
