Olympic Air hereby announces that the code-share agreement with Etihad Airways for flights between Athens and Sydney/Melbourne via Abu-Dhabi is fully activated from 31st October, 2010. Under the agreement, Olympic Air’s flight code OA, placed on the Athens–Abu-Dhabi–Athens routes operated by Etihad Airways (EY) is also placed on selected long-haul flights operated by EY between Abu Dhabi and Sydney/Melbourne.

The agreement with Etihad Airways is part of Olympic Air’s ongoing effort to offer its passengers an enhanced and smooth access to a series of worldwide destinations, especially to major communities of the vibrant Greek diaspora such as Australia.

Olympic Air (OA) is a new airline, registered in Greece, born from the acquisition of formerly state-owned flag carrier of Greece, ‘Olympic Airlines’, by the largest Greek investment group, Marfin Investment Group, in April 2009. In September 2010 Olympic Air won the “Airline of the Year 2010/11” ERA Silver Award.
