New routes see Liverpool now connected to over 650 worldwide destinations
Tuesday, November 09, 2010
Following news that easyJet will start to operate three new routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport from 7th February 2011, Liverpool Convention Bureau has announced that the city is now connected to over 650 worldwide destinations.

The six-weekly service will include flights to Salzburg in Austria, Tallinn in Estonia and Brussels, which is largely seen as the administrative centre of the European Union, further strengthening the city’s appeal to overseas delegates and event organisers. In addition to Liverpool John Lennon, the city is easily accessible from Manchester Airport and the team will be communicating this connectivity message to visitors to its stand at this year’s EIBTM.

Core to the promotion of this message will be the production of detailed information sheets and maps aimed at highlighting the main transportation hubs, venues and hotel capacities. As well as referencing the two international airports serving the City Region it will also highlight its high speed train services from London Euston in just over two hours.

“We really want to get a message out about how easy it is to get to Liverpool;” comments Carol O’Reilly, Liverpool Convention Bureau Manager. “These new routes really do open up the city and further enhance our global connectivity. We’ll also be sharing news on updates to the infrastructure such as the new first class departure lounge at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which will further position the ‘international’ nature of the city in the future.”

VisitBritain will once again take a sporting theme to the show and with its sporting excellence and credentials; Liverpool will be in an excellent position to capitalise on this. In addition to on-stand activity Liverpool Convention Bureau will team up with ACC Liverpool to hold a buyer dinner on Wednesday 1st December.
