Elite Island Resorts president recognized as one of the most extraordinary minds in sales and marketing
Steven Heydt to receive "Top 25' honorat HSMAI Adrian Awards
Tuesday, January 11, 2011
Elite Island Resorts President Steven Heydt has been selected as one of the “Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing” for 2010 by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI). Heydt’s name will appear on the eighth annual list recognizing the “best of the best” in the hospitality, travel and tourism industries. He will be honored during a private ceremony preceding the Adrian Awards Gala on January 31, 2011, at the New York Marriott Marquis and during the Adrian Reception and Gala.

Heydt and his “Top 25” peers were hand-selected by a panel of senior industry executives for their creativity and innovation, cutting-edge sales and marketing campaigns, triumph in challenging situations and sales efforts that resulted in dramatic gains. With more than 40 years in the industry, most recently as president of Elite Island Resorts, a collection of 10 beachfront properties in the Caribbean, Heydt was a model nominee.

Steven Heydt’s wealth of experience in the travel sales and marketing industry, coupled with his superior leadership skills, has helped Elite Island Resorts to grow its product offering, to expand its customer reach and to strengthen its relationships with travel partners and the greater agent community, despite a continued worldwide recession. The company has witnessed a 10 percent increase year over year, and the upcoming season’s booking picture is strong, with more people planning their vacations further in advance. Occupancy and average rates are also higher.

“I am privileged to begin the New Year with such a prestigious recognition, particularly by an honor that was granted by my peers,” said Heydt. “I look forward to continued growth and development in 2011, including new partnerships, exciting products and promotions for agents and clients.”
