Luxury 505-room Hotel becomes 12th Dan Hotel represented by Utell
Dan Jerusalem joins Utell Hotels & Resorts
Friday, February 18, 2011
Utell Hotels & Resorts has welcomed the 505-room Dan Jerusalem, a luxury property in the heart of Jerusalem overlooking the biblical landscape. It becomes the 12th property from Dan Hotels, the largest and most established hotel chain in Israel, to join the experienced hotel representation service.

Situated on Mount Scopus, the Dan Jerusalem is within easy reach of major tourist attractions and entertainment venues in both the old and newer areas of the historic city. The hotel is the largest in Jerusalem, boasting 505 guestrooms, including 62 suites, many with panoramic views of the Old City and the Judean Hills.

“We have made a sizable investment in the Dan Jerusalem because of the growing appeal we see in global travel to Jerusalem,” said Rafi Baeri, vice president, marketing and sales for Dan Hotels Corporation. “With this level of financial commitment, it only makes sense for us to turn to Utell to support our global sales and marketing efforts. We’ve realized great success with them in the past with 11 of our hotels, and expect to do so again with the Dan Jerusalem.”

The Dan Jerusalem is the fourth Jerusalem hotel for Dan Hotels, bringing the total number of Dan guestrooms in the Israeli capital to more than 1,100. The hotel houses Jerusalem’s largest spa facility with two swimming pools, gender-specific hours, an impressive fitness room and Turkish bath. It also is ideal for events, offering two Mediterranean terraces, a picturesque and vast pool area, and an attractive art collection, not to mention its unrivaled natural setting.

As the newest addition to Utell’s international offering of more than 6,000 hotels in more than 130 countries, the Dan Jerusalem will enjoy the benefits of Utell’s extensive and proven business-generating marketing programs and sales relationships with the majority of the world’s travel agencies, as well as preferred agreements with major TMCs (travel management companies), online distributors, corporations and consortia groups. The hotel can also access a complete range of powerful competitive intelligence tools, award-winning Web services, market-leading reservations and booking technology services, all powered by Pegasus Solutions and provided to Utell members.

“The Dan Jerusalem represents nearly half of Dan Hotels’ rooms in Jerusalem, making it not only an impressive property, but also a key driver of Dan Hotels’ success in the city,” said Avelina Iglesias, vice president of sales and account management, EMEA for Utell. “We’re honored the company has entrusted such an enviable and important property to us.”

The Dan Jerusalem is now available on the GDSs under Utell’s chain code, UI, and at the dedicated travel agent Web site www.UtellAgent.com. It joins other Dan Hotels already in the Utell portfolio, including: Dan Panorama Jerusalem, Dan Boutique Jerusalem, Dan Tel Aviv, Dan Accadia Herzliya On Sea, Dan Panorama Tel Aviv, Dan Caesarea Hotel, Dan Carmel Haifa, Dan Panorama Haifa, Dan Gardens Ashkelon, Dan Panorama Eilat, and Dan Eilat.
