"W Hotels debuted in Mexico City more than seven years ago in the trendy Polanco neighborhood," said Eva Ziegler, Global Brand Leader, W Hotels Worldwide and Le Meridien. "Just like W Mexico City, W Santa Fe will become a destination for both international travelers and locals alike."
"W Santa Fe will be a great addition to our existing Starwood portfolio in Mexico," said Osvaldo Librizzi, President of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Latin America. "Sante Fe is quickly becoming an important financial and business district for Latin America, and W will bring modern style and dynamic energy to this bustling neighborhood."
Interiors of W Sante Fe are being designed jointly by Mexico-based Edmonds International and New York-based KrauseSawyer. A dramatic staircase will be a sculptural centerpiece of the hotel's multi-story Living Room (W's take on the traditional hotel lobby), and the hotel will feature 132 stylish guestrooms with spectacular city views; several destination bar and restaurant options, including W's signature Living Room bar and cafe; WET pool deck with outdoor bar; 4,000 square foot Away Spa, with nine treatment rooms; SWEAT(R), state-of-the-art fitness facility, and 7,800 square feet of meeting and event space, including a 3,000 square feet Great Room.
"We are very proud that this development will carry the W brand and the acclaimed architect Richard Meier, one of the most well known architects in the world. We know that the Liberty Plaza will be an icon in Mexico City as a mixed use development in the city's newest financial district," said Abraham Metta and Fredy Helfon partners and developers of ALHEL and GIM Desarrollos.
Situated less than 20 minutes from Toluca airport, W Santa Fe will be within walking distance of the BBVA Bancomer Convention Center and conveniently located near Sante Fe's numerous restaurants, stylish
shopping and dynamic entertainment facilities.
