Concur clients can easily add thetrainline.com rail to their travel plans
Concur partners with thetrainline.com to provide direct rail access to business travellers
Wednesday, June 29, 2011

Concur, a leading provider of integrated travel and expense management solutions, announced  a new partnership with thetrainline.com, the UK’s leading online rail retailer. Trainline Connect, thetrainline.com’s API, enables users to view prices, availability, reserve and purchase any UK journey - and compare air and rail service options - all on one screen.

Through this partnership, Concur clients can easily add thetrainline.com rail to their travel plans the same way they already book air, car, or hotel reservations, and enjoy additional benefits including:
- Mixed air and rail display
- One way, round trip and open return booking functionality supported
- Availability for all GDS’s
- Multiple ticketing/delivery options
- Support of rail cards
- Agency invoice, lodge/BTA card and personal card support.

“We are delighted Concur chose to partner with thetrainline.com to provide the integrated rail content for its online booking tool,” said Ian Cairns, Head of Distribution for thetrainline.com. “Business travellers are constantly on the lookout for affordable, environmentally friendly and convenient means to travel. Our partnership with Concur gives those business travellers the tools to make cost effective and productive decisions when arranging their travel plans. Furthermore, the adoption of Trainline Connect by market leaders like Concur continues to confirm thetrainline.com as the leading provider of rail booking technology solutions to the business travel market.”

“Our goal is to continually improve the experience for business travellers, while helping their companies drive down costs,” said Barry Padgett, EVP & GM of Europe for Concur. “Growing our Concur Connect platform with leading travel suppliers like thetrainline.com, allows us to provide our corporate clients with services that will save them time and money while making business travel easier and more productive for their employees.”

Travel Management Companies (TMCs) can now have direct access to thetrainline.com content through Concur’s travel booking technology. Clients will have this same level of access in June.

Through Concur Connect - the global program that connects suppliers from around the world and provides clients exclusive access to services otherwise unavailable though traditional travel programs - thetrainline.com joins a growing list of travel suppliers that not only provide Concur clients with broad access to travel inventory, but also feed e-receipts directly into expense reports.
