BMI and Swiss have started operating new routes from Heathrow and Manchester
New flights will help Alsace develop into a popular European golf holiday destination
Thursday, June 30, 2011

Alsace is well known for its beautiful scenery, good food (it has more Michelin starred restaurants than any other region of France other than Paris), wine, and welcoming people. Now it also has a growing reputation as a golf holiday destination offering a selection of attractive, uncrowded and value for money courses which are ready to welcome golfers of all standards from the UK.

And this year it is a whole lot easier for golfers to get to these lovely courses with the introduction of new flights to the region. British Midland International (BMI) and Swiss have recently started operating new routes from Heathrow and Manchester to the European Airport at Basle/Mulhouse in the south of the Alsace region.

Easyjet flies to the same airport from London Gatwick and Edinburgh while British Airways also flies there from Heathrow.

The increasingly popular train takes just over five hours  from London to Strasbourg (Eurostar to Paris  and the TGV Est to Strasbourg, Colmar and Mulhouse).
