Travelport and Tempest Car Hire sign participation agreement

Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, announced a first participation agreement with Tempest Car Hire, to be made available to all Galileo and Apollo connected agents worldwide.
The three year agreement takes immediate effect and will see Tempest Car Hire’s content being made available through the Travelport GDS systems. Tempest offers over 30 key car rental locations across Southern Africa and caters to both the leisure and corporate customer.
Paul Adams, director, Hospitality Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “We are delighted that Tempest has chosen Travelport to partner with and to distribute their car content via our GDS. We offer a compelling distribution solution with extensive content to our travel agent subscribers making them more competitive.”
“The opportunity to display content to thousands of agents both locally and globally, as well as providing those same agents ease of booking car rental is a quantum leap forward in our distribution strategy", said Janita Edwards, marketing and commercial director Tempest Car Hire. “It is a natural progression for Tempest to add the GDS to distribute inventory. We recognise the trade is an important channel for us and would like to work towards solidifying relationships making it easier to make car bookings,” she added.
