Italy won the coveted "Favourite Country" award at the 14th edition of the Annual Readers' Travel Awards ceremony which was held at the Royal Institution of Great Britain in Mayfair on 31st August 2011. Italy also came 5th in the "Best of the Best" category which awards the best overall holiday experience.

- Category "Overseas Leisure Hotels": Four Seasons Hotel in Florence (7th) and Capri Palace Hotel & Spa (9th)

- Category "Specialist Tour Operators": Citalia (4th)
- Category "Short-haul leisure airlines": Alitalia (9th)
