More than 20 airlines sign long-term contracts with AeroGround
Tuesday, October 11, 2011
AeroGround, the ground handling subsidiary of FMG, the Munich Airport operating company, has entered into long-term deals with more than 20 airline customers over the past few months. With the signing of these deals the company, which began doing business at the start of this year with new competitive structures, has achieved a successful market debut.

Among the key customers acquired by AeroGround in 2011 are the two Russian airlines AK Bars Aero and Yakutia, Air Arabia from Egypt and the Slovakian airline Danube Wings. The company has also signed handling contracts with Air France, KLM, Fedex, EL AL, Germania, Pegasus Airlines, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Air China, US Airways, Adria Airways, Air Malta, Croatia Airlines and Cirrus Airlines. AeroGround's largest customer is Lufthansa, which entered into a six-year agreement for handling services at Munich Airport at the beginning of the year.

"The trust shown by the airlines in AeroGround is an affirmation for us that we are on the right track with the new positioning of our company. This trust will also spur us on in our continuous efforts to develop and improve our quality and efficiency," says Siegfried Pasler, the managing director of AeroGround.

AeroGround Flughafen Munchen GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of FMG, is the largest provider of ground handling services at Munich Airport. The company has a workforce of approximately 2,000 employees and provides services to more than 100 domestic and foreign airlines.
