The Incentive Travel & Conference, Meeting Asia (IT&CMA) was held from Oct. 4th to 6th at Bangkok Convention Center, Thailand. This year IT&CMA attracted more than 2,457 delegates, comprising of exhibitors, buyers, corporate travel managers, conference delegates and media, hailing from 60 countries worldwide. Taiwan Tourism Bureau led a strong MICE team to join this important MICE event in Asia, which includes Taiwan Convention & Exhibition Association (TCEA), Taipei City Government, Zion Tours, TW MICE DMC, Howard Hotel, Hotel Royal Chiao Hsi, TICC and TAITRA.
Taiwan Tourism Bureau is promoting Taiwan’s new incentive attractions to the world in view of the increasing demand for incentive groups, targeting buyers from Asia through special promotion packages under the new slogan: “Taiwan, the Heart of Asia”. A Taiwan international press conference was held at IT&CMA drew nearly 40 international media representatives. On the same day afternoon, another cultural experience: Chinese calligraphy and Taiwan Happy Hour at Taiwan pavilion also attracted more than 120 international buyers and visitors. Mrs. Melody Chao, a famous calligrapher in Taiwan presented live the art of calligraphy in front of visitors. The delicate artwork of calligraphy is one of Taiwan’s hidden treasures, bathed in the Chinese culture and is still using the same characters passed down by our ancestors thousand years ago.
Exhibitors at Taiwan pavilion had over 150 business appointments with hosted Buyers and media representatives during the 2-day show. All buyers showed high interest in Taiwan, reflected by the amount of international media exposure which was extremely successful. During business talks and networking, buyers indicated high intention to bring more groups to Taiwan as a new destination for incentive tour or meeting. They also expressed strong interest in Taiwan’s government support and subsidy programs for MICE.
Moreover, this year Taiwan Booth again won the Stickiest National Booth Award (Bronze) among all national pavilions. Taiwan Convention & Exhibition Association as organizer for Taiwan’s participation in IT&CMA, is confident that Taiwan is becoming more and more eye-catching in the world’s MICE industry. Taiwan Tourism Bureau and TCEA are looking forward with optimism to making Taiwan the best destination for international incentive tourism and meetings.
