One of the world’s major providers of hotel software, protel, has partnered with online distribution company, SiteMinder, to offer two-way streamlined distribution solutions for thousands of international hotels.

More than 6000 hotels around the world use Property Management System (PMS) and Central Reservation System (CRS) products developed by German-based protel.

SiteMinder’s General Manager in Europe, Brendon Rogers, said SiteMinder had launched a two-way integration to protel’s SPE (Single Property Edition) PMS and MPE (Multiple Property Edition) CRS as well as to protel’s SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions, ‘bookatonce’ and ‘protel Air’, using SiteMinder’s plug-and-play ‘pmsXchange’ technology, which more than two dozen PMS and CRS systems now use to provide two-way access to the world’s leading online booking systems.

The protel partnership means live availability for hotels will be automatically updated on the world’s major booking sites from protel’s PMS and CRS networks via SiteMinder. Reservations from those sites will be automatically delivered by SiteMinder directly back into protel’s networks, eliminating the need to enter  bookings manually and lowering the cost of acquisition.
