The airline is offering more than one million seats to ski destinations
easyJet increases capacity to become UK's largest ski airline
Tuesday, December 20, 2011
easyJet hasannounced increased capacity on five of its most popular ski routes making it the UK's largest ski airline. This season the airline is offering more than one million seats to ski destinations - a four percent increase on last season - to ensure that winter thrill seekers can secure affordable flights to the widest range of ski resorts.

Fresh snowfall, particularly at high altitude western European resorts, has prompted resorts in Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland to open up for the first time this season.

Paul Simmons, easyJet's UK director, said: "As thousands of skiers head for the slopes to take advantage of the fresh snowfall, our increased capacity means easyJet is well positioned to meet passenger demand. The additional flights will make us the airline of choice this season, making skiing holidays and weekend breaks even more convenient and affordable."

Vicky Norman
of the Ski Club of Great Britain, said: "The high western European resorts are enjoying healthy snowfall after an epic change in conditions in the second week of December. Europe's dry green slopes have turned white overnight with some resorts receiving over 50cm of snow in the space of two days."

asyJet has increased capacity on flights to Geneva, Grenoble, Lyon, Innsbruck and Salzburg with prices starting from an affordable £21.99 (one way including taxes) between December 2011 and March 2012.

The airline has also added new routes from Edinburgh to Grenoble and Luton to Salzburg with seats from as little as £27.99 (one way including taxes). Inaugural flights on both routes depart on 17th December.

Other popular ski routes operated by easyJet include: Basel, Milan, Munich, Sofia and Zurich - offering skiers of all levels, from beginners to adrenaline junkies, the choice of hundreds of suitable ski destinations from key UK airports.
