The number of the Russians in Cyprus has been increasing

The number of the Russian tourists in Cyprus increased by 55% in 2011, announces Cyprus Tourism Organization. Russia took the 2nd place in number of the tourists instead of 4th as it was several years ago.

As for Biblio Globus, the sales for Cyprus increased by 80 this year. According to Ilona Kireeva, General Director of the company, more and more regional tourists were interested in Cyprus. Biblio Globus had Transaero flights to Paphos from 6 regions of Russia: Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Ufa, Samara, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk and also Donavia flight to Larnaca from Rostov-on-Don. As for St. Petersburg market, the company offered GTK Rossiya flights to Larnaca and Paphos.

Among the young people the most popular hotels of Paphos in 2011 were the properties with All inclusive and developed infrastructure with beaches and evening entertainment, such as Amathus Beach Hotel Paphos 5*, Laura Beach Hotel 4*, Aktibeach Village Resort 4*.

The number of the tourists, who preferred to stay in luxury hotels, increased in 2011. Among the popular hotels for VIP segment were such properties as: Amathus Beach Hotel Limassol 5*, Le Meridien Limassol Spa&Resort 5*, Four Seasons 5* (Limassol), Anassa 5* (Paphos).
