US Airways continues to enhance the customer experience in the air and on the ground
US Airways completes First Class cabin installation on Express aircraft
Friday, January 13, 2012
US Airways announced the completion of first class installation on 110 US Airways Express regional jets including the Embraer 175 and 170 and Canadair Regional Jet 700 and 900 fleets. The airline now offers seamless same-class service to more than 85 destinations and offers a higher percentage of flights with First Class among the four major network carriers.

US Airways began installing the First Class product on its Express aircraft in September and completed all aircraft in mid-December. The seats offer generous legroom and personal space in a 1-2 configuration throughout the First Class cabin. First Class customers now receive the same benefits when traveling on First Class-equipped US Airways Express aircraft that they experience on mainline flights including:
- Priority check-in
- Priority security lines (where available)
- Early boarding
- A dedicated cabin
- A larger seat with increased leg room
- Complimentary alcoholic beverages
- Complimentary snacks
- Complimentary pillows and blankets
- Priority baggage handling

"By working with our Express partners PSA, Mesa and Republic Airways, we are now able to provide the same levels of service our First Class passengers desire on our fleet of larger regional jets," said Dion Flannery, president, US Airways Express. "With more than 640 additional daily flights with First Class available, Dividend Miles Preferred members have more opportunities to take advantage of complimentary upgrades while traveling on US Airways Express."

In addition to the improvements made to its Express fleet, US Airways continues to enhance its products, services and airport facilities and has begun installation of the Envoy Suite - the airline's fully lie-flat business-class seats with an advanced on-demand in-flight entertainment system - on its fleet of wide-body Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

US Airways Club
Over the past year, the airline invested more than $1.5 million in product enhancements and renovations to its airport Clubs to improve its customers' comfort and convenience. Enhancements that customers who visit US Airways Clubs can enjoy include:
- A revamped wine menu at all Club locations with a greater selection of premium wines
- An assortment of heartier snacks in our Philadelphia and Charlotte clubs during peak transatlantic departure hours
- A new club in Terminal 2 at Raleigh-Durham (scheduled to open in late January)
- Refreshed decor and new furniture in the Terminal B club in Phoenix, a new club in New York's LaGuardia Airport and a second club in DCA.

New menus in First Class and Envoy
US Airways also launched a series of enhancements to the food and overall meal presentation in domestic First Class and Envoy, the airlines' business class product to Europe, South America and the Middle East. Enhancements include heartier snacks and improved meals in First Class as well as a redesigned menu in Envoy featuring signature entrees, appetizers and desserts.

Andrew Nocella, senior vice president marketing and planning said, "From the airport to onboard, it is important to provide a truly first class experience for our customers, whether they purchase First Class and/or Envoy or they're a part of our frequent flier program, Dividend Miles where they can take advantage of the unlimited upgrade opportunities. By investing in our product, we are able to provide the level of comfort and service our customers enjoy the most and have come to expect from US Airways."
