Price comparison website dealchecker.co.uk can reveal that Alicante and Las Vegas are currently in the lead as the top two flight only destinations for Brits travelling abroad in 2012.

Alicante takes the top spot up five places from last year. While Las Vegas makes its first appearance in the top ten, straight into second place. Tenerife is in third place followed by New York, up four places from last year and Orlando sits comfortably in fifth position.

Alice Mariscotti-Wyatt, editor of dealchecker.co.uk said of the findings: "In the last twelve months we have seen a significant increase in UK travellers making use of dealchecker's flight search and travel deals newsletter. Travellers are looking for the best available deals to get the most from their holiday pound. Spain and North America have always been popular destinations and offer great value getaways. In these tougher times travellers prefer to stick to what they know best, for the moment at least travellers are being little more cautious about their travel plans for 2012."
