Generator Hostels, Europe’s hostel chain, has opened the doors of its newest hostel in Hamburg, Germany, bringing the number of its locations across Europe to six.
The 684-bed hostel is located in the Klockmann-House, where John, Paul, George and Ringo, also known as the Beatles, recorded nine songs in the 1960s. It is centrally located right next to Hamburg’s main train station in the trendy district of St. George.
Generator Hostels has invested 30 million euro in the renovation of the building. There is free Wi-Fi in all communal areas, a coffee shop and outdoor terrace, and the famous Generator Hostel bar.
Rooms include dormitories for 4-8 people as well as private doubles/singles and female-only rooms. All rooms have en-suite shower and toilet facilities. The dorm beds follow a new Generator Hostel standard and are individually equipped with their own energy-saving LED reading light and individual power sockets.
The hostel is within easy walking distance of Hamburg’s many landmarks including the Alster lake; the Deichtorhallen, one of the best known exhibition galleries worldwide; theMonckebergstra?e shopping area and Speicherstadt, the famous warehouse district.
