Friday, January 27, 2012
According to experts of Horwarth HTL consulting company, presently Best Western is the second international hotel chain in Poland in terms of the number of facilities and the fifth one in terms of the number of offered rooms. 2011 was the year of rapid development in Poland for Best Western. Moreover the chain received several prestigious awards.

Owing to opening to as many as 6 new hotels in 2011, Best Western received the Chain of the Year 2011 title from “Hotelarz”, a renowned magazine of hotel industry. Moreover Saija Kekkonen, the CEO of Best Western Hotels Finland, Baltic States and Poland, was awarded with the title of the person of the year in hotel industry. The ranking has been published by „Hotelarz” magazine for the third time. The ranking intends to present the major events and developments within hotel industry.

“This was a year of intensive work for us, with as many as 6 new hotels joining the chain in Poland and adding as many as 649 rooms to our offering. Regardless of hotel location and size, customers can always expect the same standards, several facilities included in the room price and high service level in each and every of our hotels” says Gheorghe Cristescu, the Best Western Country Sales Director for Poland.

This year Best Western was joined by two facilities in Warsaw (BW Felix and BW Portos) and one in each of the following locations: Rzeszow (BW Ferdynand), Osjakow (BW Symfonia), Gorzow Wielkopolski (BW Gorzow Wlkp.) and Krakow (BW Krakow Old Town). The last of the them located in a historical building near the Old Town in Krakow received the title of the best hotel in Krakow (in 1 to 3 stars segment) in the Best Hotel Awards ranking, developed this year for the first time by Global Hotels & Travel company, the owner of rezerwuje.pl service. The Warsaw Best Western Portos hotel ranked 4th in the same category among hotels located in the capital city.

“Without any doubt Best Western chain is the most dynamically developing hotel chain in Poland in 2011. Increasing the number of facilities from 5 to 11 within one year is a truly impressive achievement and it perfectly fits our forecasts regarding the development of the hotel market in Poland predicting that more and more hotels will be operating under international hotel brands. Such form of operations improves the chances of a success of a hotel investment in the future” assesses Janusz Mitulski, a partner in Horwath HTL consulting company.

As early as in January the chain is going to open another hotel in Warsaw, and it is planning to expand its portfolio with eight more facilities by the end of 2012.
