GIBTM 2012

Wednesday, February 01, 2012
Building on the success of GIBTM 2011 – this year’s Global Meetings and Events Exhibition for the Gulf will host a European Exhibitor Pavilion designed to accommodate European businesses expanding their business reach into the Gulf region.

Exhibiting as a partner within the European Pavilion will allow destinations and European Private Sector companies opportunity to use GIBTM as a key platform to cost effectively launch their products into the Gulf region.

Dora Kiss, Senior Project Manager, Hungarian Convention Bureau, exhibiting in the European Pavilion at GIBTM this year, commented: "Countries of the Middle East are new markets for the Hungarian Convention Bureau. We would like to present our wonderful country on that continent, as well, because we truly believe that Hungary's supply is really competitive for the Orient”.

The pavilion will create strong return on investment for exhibiting partners as over 1,500 appointments are anticipated to take place between European exhibitors and Hosted Buyers attending from the Gulf region.

Vassilis Theocharides, returning exhibiton and Director of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation of Middle East & Arabian Gulf commented, “The Cyprus Tourism Organisation has been supporting GIBTM since it was launched. It is undoubtedly the most comprehensive MICE exhibition in the Middle East. Every year we have increased demand from our partners to participate which proves its popularity".

This year’s GIBTM will also see the launch of the GIBTM Global Industry research project which will be followed by a panel discussion exploring both the in and outbound analysis of the meetings industry, future trends and buyer and supplier habits within the region.

GIBTM is receiving strong interest and bookings from new and returning international participants who are looking to access the lucrative Middle East meetings, events and business travel market, all recognising GIBTM and the largest and proven platform in the region to do so.

Exhibitors including India Tourism, Seoul Convention Bureau, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau, Czech Tourism, Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau, Cyprus Tourism Organisation and the Embassy of The Republic of Indonesia have also confirmed their participation.
