Zambia among China`s favored African tourist destinations
Friday, December 19, 2003
Zambia is one of the eight African countries granted, by China, the Authorized Destination Status (ADS), so it could host the expected influx of Chinese tourists.
Other countries that the ADS has been extended to as more and more Chinese holiday makers travel abroad include Ethiopia, Kenya, Mauritius, the Seychelles, Tanzania, Tunisia and Zimbabwe.
According to correspondence obtained here Wednesday, business between China and the African destinations would have a lot to do in tourism cooperation.
African governments represented at the second ministerial meeting of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum held in Addis Ababa on Dec. 15-16 urged Beijing to grant the same status to other African countries with a view to enhancing Africa-China tourism cooperation.
